Southern's Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball game against Grambling has been postponed and the remainder of the series is likely canceled, senior associate athletic director Rodney Kirschner said.

Heavy rain Thursday forced postponement of the second game of a doubleheader at Lee-Hines Field until 2 p.m. Friday, and more rain was expected Friday afternoon. Kirschner said via text that it’s “95% we will cancel tomorrow.â€

Grambling (21-25, 18-8 Western Division) won the first game Thursday, 19-4, in eight innings and is still in the hunt for the West Division title. Southern (22-27, 15-12) is in fourth place in the division and will likely be the No. 4 West seed in the SWAC tournament, which begins Wednesday in Atlanta.
